This political season has been deeply painful to individuals and groups, say experts in mental health, trauma and grief.

Dr. Doug Zatzick, a psychiatrist at Harborview Medical Center, said that heated ongoing arguments about the U.S. presidential candidates has made the election "a stress trigger that’s gnawing at us."

He offered tips for managing that stress.
