Grad student advises guardians of state’s watersheds

Workshops involve source-water protection strategies in forested areas

  • (Click arrow for video.) Jon Nagata, a grad student in UW's School of Public Health, coordinated workshops with the state to help water-treatment operators and managers implement source water-protection strategies.
The state Department of Health was seeing more instances of surface-water plants having to shut down temporarily, and was seeking guidance about how to better safeguard Washington's watersheds and drinking-water quality. 

University of Washington graduate student Jonathan Nagata worked with the state to implement protection strategies.
