Beltway wisdom comes to UW‘s public- and environmental-health teams

The top administrator for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency today exhorted University of Washington students to learn “how to communicate to people about why what we do matters," and to stop using terms such as “risk reduction.” 

Gina McCarthy, addressing UW public health, policy, and environmental students and faculty, said that science is key, but you have to talk about it in human terms.
